Entity -

Relationship (ER) मॉडल real world entities और उनके बीच संबंधों की धारणा पर आधारित है। डेटाबेस मॉडल में real-world का परिदृश्य(Scenario) तैयार करते समय,ER-Model entities set, relationalship set, सामान्य attributes और constraints को बनाता है। Er-Model एक डेटाबेस के conceptual डिजाइन के लिए सबसे अच्छा उपयोग किया जाता है। ER-Model Entities और उनकी attributes पर आधारित है। entities के बीच Relationships. ER-Model में entity एक real world की entity है, जिसमें गुण(properties) होते हैं। प्रत्येक विशेषता(attributes) को domain नामक मानों के अपने सेट द्वारा परिभाषित किया जाता है। उदाहरण के लिए, एक स्कूल डेटाबेस में, एक छात्र को एक entity माना जाता है। छात्र के पास विभिन्न attributes जैसे कि name, उम्र, वर्ग, आदि हैं। 

Relationship:-

Entities के बीच logical relationship को association कहा जाता है। Relationship को विभिन्न तरीकों से entities के साथ mapped किया जाता है। Mapping cardinalities दो entites के बीच जुड़ाव की संख्या को परिभाषित करती है|
